Janna Goncharova

Head of Scale Up Studio at Startup Norway
Janna is a venture capital investor with experience from INKEF Capital, the leading early-stage VC fund in the Netherlands with EUR 500M assets under management, and focus on Series A European technology startups, and Rocket Internet, the world's largest venture builder outside of the US with a portfolio of over 100 companies including Zalando, Global Fashion Group, Hello Fresh etc and a focus on e-commerce and marketplaces. Currently, Janna helps promising Nordic startups to scale internationally and secure institutional funding.

Knut Wien

Co-founder and Leader at Startup Norway
Knut Wien is co-founder and leader of Startup Norway. He started his career as a Norwegian Naval Officer, before a master in Technology and Entrepreneurship at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Since 2010 he has founded and built several tech-startups in the edtech sector, before starting full time on building a stronger startup ecosystem through the creation of Startup Norway, Startup Extreme, and Angel Challenge. Knut has led training programs for more than 500 investors and 200 startups, educating on the art of startup investing and fundraising. He is a skilled startup coach, and active investor in early stage startups. Today he leads Startup Norway together with Maja Adriaensen, and is responsible for the visionary direction of Startup Norway and Startup Extreme, engaging new partners, and creating new services in the ecosystem on the mission to set the stage for more startup success stories.

Lecture 1 :
Risk assessment and Early Stage Due Diligence - How to perform Due Diligence and assess the risk of an investment.

Workshop 1:
Risk analysis of the startup in the group (Investors and startups work through a worksheet together)

Lecture 2:
Investment agreements and valuation - How to evaluate pre- revenue startups and negotiate an investment deal.

Workshop 2:
Investment agreements and valuation (Discuss options for the upcoming fundraising round, agree on a likely structure for the startups next fundraising round.)

Workshop 1, in New groups:
Present and discuss the findings from the teamwork on all the startups. Learn from each other and explore other opinions on how to evaluate the different startups.

Workshop 2: Original groups - Prepare for the next step:
1: Build a lead-investor story to present to the other investors

2: Build an advised action list for the startups on: How can the startup increase their venture readiness and company valuation?

The cost of attending the workshop is 800 Euros. However, for this year, you have the opportunity to attend for free. This is made possible thanks to an Innovation Norway grant, which fully covers the workshop fee.
